Hillary’s hallucinating over Mueller report

We are truly living in enchanted times. Enchanted as in a dark medieval forest with all the terrors and horrors that come with. Enchanted in the context of Ground Hog day the movie and every new day a repeat of the previous. Politicians so enchanted with the image in their mirrors they just can’t help forcing themselves back upon us day, after day, after day.

Enter again one Ms. Hillary Rodham Clinton to grace us with her thoughts on the Mueller report via a Washington Post op/ed.

That the sympathetic Post would accept her musings is not surprising. That after her private server fiasco, smashing phones, deleting emails, and destroying sim cards all while under Congressional subpoena she still sees herself as a credible voice on obstruction of justice shows a level of narcissism even for her previously unseen.

A few excerpts from her WaPo opus:

First, like in any time our nation is threatened, we have to remember that this is bigger than politics. What our country needs now is clear-eyed patriotism, not reflexive partisanship.”

And then she skips right into partisan slandering of our current Attorney General.

Whether they like it or not, Republicans in Congress share the constitutional responsibility to protect the country. Mueller’s report leaves many unanswered questions — in part because of Attorney General William P. Barr’s redactions and obfuscations.”

For someone whose sole desire in life seems to be her desire to be seen as the wisest sage on the planet, belittling Barr for simply doing his duty as required by law is a strange way to do it. The redactions were a collaborative effort between DOJ attorneys, Special Counsel Office attorneys and the intelligence community, not Barr’s personal musings.

Hillary knows better than to mislead the public with such a false statement but well, she’s Hillary. But the mother of all misleads is this paragraph:

We have to get this right. The Mueller report isn’t just a reckoning about our recent history; it’s also a warning about the future. Unless checked, the Russians will interfere again in 2020, and possibly other adversaries, such as China or North Korea, will as well. This is an urgent threat. Nobody but Americans should be able to decide America’s future. And, unless he’s held accountable, the president may show even more disregard for the laws of the land and the obligations of his office. He will likely redouble his efforts to advance Putin’s agenda, including rolling back sanctions, weakening NATO and undermining the European Union.”

Advance Putin”?  Obviously all those walks in the woods since her election failure have kept her in the dark on sanctions currently imposed. And did she trip over a log and lose her memory that it was one Barack Obama, not Donald Trump that was in charge when the Russians were scurrying about in our elections?

Weakening NATO?  Well, you can believe Hillary or you can believe NATO’s secretary general Jens Stoltenberg who just this month in the Oval Office with President Trump noted “Because as you just mentioned, after years of cutting defense budgets, NATO allies have now started to invest more,….And by the end of next year, they will have added $100 billion more into their defense budgets…. And that helps and it proves also that NATO is a strong alliance,”….”We have increased the readiness of forces. We have stepped up in our joint fight against terrorism. And we are investing more.”

Undermining the European Union?  You mean the EU where Germany contracts a pipeline that strengthens Putin while still not fulfilling it’s NATO obligation of 2% GDP spending for defense?  An EU whose bureaucrats in Brussels dictate immigration and social policy that is destroying centuries old cultures across the continent. The same European Union that a World Trade Organization appellate panel recently ruled is illegally subsidizing Airbus to the detriment of billions of dollars to American company Boeing?

She did speak one truth however:

Our founders envisioned the danger we face today and designed a system to meet it. Now it’s up to us to prove the wisdom of our Constitution, the resilience of our democracy and the strength of our nation.”

One of the wisest elements of said Constitution that the founders included was the Electoral College. The system that protects this republic from being overrun by the mob rule of a simple democracy. A system that has helped keep this nation strong for over two centuries now.

Yet what does the grande dame of Constitutional thought have to say on that? In September 2017 she told CNN’s Anderson Cooper “I think it needs to be eliminated. I’d like to see us move beyond it, yes.”

The woman who would be President is on record wanting to eliminate one of the fundamental pillars of the Constitution of the United States of America.

You can hate Donald J. Trump to the depths of hell, but he’s not the threat.
