To Have A Heart

The scarecrow loved his brains,
But still he was without.
Mr. Lion won his courage,
But still he could not shout.

They never had to say it,
Down deep they felt it true.
The greatest prize of all,
Was not among the two.

For the Tin Man found his heart,
With which that he could feel.
All the joy and love,
That makes life oh so real..

For life without a heart,
Is but a living death.
Knowing no emotion,
Is but a waste of breath.

The heart controls the soul,
That flows within us all.
The single sense of being,
That’s there before we crawl.

Though it needs to be protected,
Don’t keep it locked away.
Share your heart with others,
And happiness will stay…
