She’s A Lady

She’s been ridiculed and viled,
She’s been talked about in vain.
But through it all she stands,
A lady just the same.

She saw a violent birth,
Hand to struggle for her life.
and through her infant years,
Very nearly lost the fight.

Her childhood brought her growth,
she came into her own.
They were happy years indeed,
As she reaped the seeds past sown.

As she grew into a lady,
Many trials put her to test,
But she never failed nor faultered,
Always rose above the reast.

My heart is filled with pride,
As now she stand alone.
She’s the shining light of freedom,
She’s America, my home.
