Obama's latest attempt at "civil" discourse

The Greatest Generation gave all to defeat Hitler, Tojo, Mussolini and the greatest evil the world had known to date. Four decades later their children saw the fall of communist Russia and the end of The Cold War. And three years ago the next generation witnessed the historic election of who at that time was being touted as the first “post-racial” candidate to the office of the Presidency of the United States of America.

Two of the above three will forever be recorded in history as turning points for the human race and examples of good conquering evil. One of the above three will be recorded in history as a turning point for the human race and an example of how one nation’s collective guilt inflicted a failure of monumental proportion upon the entire planet.

Just in case you’re inclined to think TheCorner is being a bit too harsh in judging the consequences of our schizophrenic episode that day in November, 2008 read on.

Evidently not learning even a snippet from the history of the debacle that was then candidate Obama’s “fightthesmears.com” website , now President Obama and his supporters have launched a new website, AttackWatch.com to protect Dear Leader’s outsized ego and ever thinning skin.

With the appropriate blazing red, black and white, (if you don’t get the reference you need to brush up on your mid 20th century world history. Specifically the time surrounding Germany in the late 30’s and also perhaps the political apparatus of ones Stalin and Mao.) the site boldly states in it’s heading “Get the facts. Fight the smears”.

OK, Caldwell, so what’s the problem? Obama’s campaign has set up a web site to put forth their spin as they see fit. Every campaign does it, nothing new, no harm done.

That’s not the problem.

What has this columnist and Americans the country over having yet another “wtf” moment with this administration is the site’s overt embracement of the communist/socialist regimes’ philosophy of urging citizens to “report” other citizens speaking ill of its Dear Leader.

At the top of the old “fightthesmears.com” website is the following quote from Dear Leader himself:

“What you won’t hear from this campaign or this party is the kind of politics that uses religion as a wedge, and patriotism as a bludgeon — that sees our opponents not as competitors to challenge, but enemies to demonize.” – Barack Obama, June 3, 2008

Hmmm, anyone else remember a now President Obama, bludgeoning his political opponents over the past few weeks with the “it’s time to put country before party” mantra?

Hmmm, anyone else wondering why the deafening silence from the White House regarding party faithful calling fellow Americans “terrorist, hostage takers, sons of bitches” and stating that they want to see blacks hanging from trees and should all go straight to hell?

Demonizing, demagoguery, and distortion is a trademark of this Administration. TheCorner understands that. You elect a Chicago based community organizer who never spent a day of his life outside the womb of liberalism that’s what you get. No surprise there.

But what is surprising is that this bunch of Banana Republic wannabes is actually arrogant enough to find not problem one with putting up a website specifically asking Americans to “report” on fellow Americans. And to do that “reporting” not for any reason of national security or imminent threat, but purely to protect the ego of their narcissist leader.

And if  just reporting on grandma doesn’t satisfy your desire to please Dear Leader, you can also

join the “Attack Wire” that will help you “stop the attacks on the President before they start.” so that “When another unfounded attack surfaces, we’ll arm you with the truth so you can share the facts with your friends and family.”

(Of course that “truth” is dutifully run through the DNC spin machine for party purity, but hey, one man’s “truth” is another’s “attack” right?)

Why is that every-time you dare think that this Administration cannot possibly get any worse, it does?

While the White House may have provided us a one-stop portal to snitch out our neighbors, this “smartest President” in history has yet to suggest how we will ever remove the stain of hypocrisy that he and his politburo has left upon a once great office.

Jake Tapper over at ABCnews.go.com exposing one example of the sites “spin”:

The “Attack Watch”-er at the Obama campaign isn’t seeking to understand the complicated Obama-Netanyahu relationship, or the disagreements Romney and Perry might have not only with Obama but with Gates………..In short, the “Attack Watch”-er wasn’t trying to stop smears, he or she was seeking to stop criticism. The quality of the criticism may be another matter entirely.

(This is not a new problem for the Obama Smear Squad, they have a tendency towards over-reach.  See HERE from April 2008.)

Not a new problem indeed Jake, criticism to Obama is as water to the wicked witch of the west.

Ross Kaminsky writing in the American Spectator : AttackWatch, the new Obama campaign site, confirms just how inept and out of touch this president is………….

You have to hand it to the Obama administration when it comes to consistency: Its players are singularly skilled when it comes to refusing to learn from their own failures……………

And that brings us to 2011 and the latest example of Obama’s “fatal conceit,” that if something failed in the past it just needs to be done bigger to succeed. And so is unleashed on unsuspecting Americans the AttackWatch.com website as well as a Twitter “hash tag” (#AttackWatch) for the nation’s many “tweeters” to use to report naughty conservatives to the government.

If there has ever been a more spectacular failure of a propaganda campaign in such a short time, I am unaware of it.

That last line could be easily translated to: “If there has ever been a more spectacular failure of a Presidency in such a short time, history is unaware of it.”

None other than the Washington Post originally titled Elizabeth Flock’s post on the site “Attack Watch, new Obama campaign site to “fight smears” becomes laughing stock of the internet” before pulling back to the comfort of political correctness and changing “internet” to “conservatives”. (Any doubt if there’s a call log somewhere showing a White House number to a Washington Post number?)

And in a follow up post to her first, Flock quotes “ironchefofmunchies” from the comments section regarding conservatives vs the entire internet:

I think “becomes the laughing stock of the internet” is much more accurate …. When Colbert and Jon Stewart are making fun of you for this-it’s NOT just “conservatives“ mocking you.

Following an anti-Vietnam War editorial by then American news icon, Walter Cronkite, President Johnson reportedly stated: “If I’ve lost Cronkite, I’ve lost Middle America.”.

Obama doesn’t realize it yet, but he’s lost more than Colbert and Stewart, he’s lost the entire nation.
