State of the Union or Teleprompter Twist?

January 24, 2012

Barack talks but who listens?

The question of the day is:  Will America get a true “State of the Union” address tonight or will it just be another one of Obama’s “teleprompter twists”?

The Corner predicts there will be a strong theme of “I’m for you, the average American, the little guy, I just want you to get a “fair shot”, etc..etc…etc..)

When you hear those things you might want to remember:

That Mr. “I’m for you, I’m responsible, I’m concerned” Obama has now missed the budget submission deadline for a THIRD year in a row and that today is the 1000 day mark that the Democrat Senate STILL has not passed a budget.  (Not to mention that he’s already stolen over 4 trillion from future generations and just asked for another $1.2 trillion to get him through the next election without any “uncomfortable” discussions regarding his fiscal stewardship of the nation’s bank account.

If you’re an “average American” who’s just trying to make ends meet you might want to remember:

  1. A gallon of gasoline is now more than double what it cost in 2008
  2. Electric bills are being forced to rise due to Obama’s EPA mandates and early plant retirements
  3. Almost everything on the grocery shelves today is now in a smaller package with a higher price tag with much of the reason being the higher energy costs discussed in 1 and 2 above.

If you’re an “average American” just wanting to work, you might want to remember that this is the same President that just killed the Keystone XL pipeline a day before jetting off to Disney-world to promote low paying service sector SEIU jobs right before jetting back up to New York to collect tons of campaign cash.

If you’re an “average American” who believes that government should stay out of religion you might want to remember that it is the Obama administration using Obamacare regulations that just issued the edict that ALL health plans will be forced to cover birth control with no co-pay or deductible, regardless of religious objections.

If you’re an “average American” who believes the Founders put the Second Amendment in the Constitution for a damn good reason you might want to remember that the Obama justice department hatched the “Fast and Furious” plan which allowed hundreds of assault weapons to find their way into Mexican drug cartels, one of which was used in a shoot out that killed a U.S. border patrol agent, all for the now emerging political goal of getting more stringent gun control legislation passed.

The truth is, if you’re one of the 20 percent minority in this country that identifies as “liberal”, you’re gonna love the President’s speech tonight.

But if you’re one of the 80 percent who is mad as hell that the media’s love affair with the 20 percent gives Obama and the left far, far more political power than they deserve you’re going to be absolutely disgusted (again) with the President tonight.

So America, no matter what Dear Leader’s teleprompter says tonight, the bottom line is that what you hear will be a far, far cry from the reality now facing this nation.

After the hype of tonight, the most important issue facing this country tomorrow will still be what will you do come November 6, 2012?

Will you continue the farce of “hope and change”, the “Chicago way”, or correct the most colossal mistake in American history and send the inexperienced, arrogant, narcissist fraud packing the “American way”?

2010 was but the trailer to what could still be the greatest American political blockbuster of all time:   Obama being handed the humiliation of one term, a landslide defeat and the over-exposed liberal minority once and for all reminded that it IS a political minority. (Whether the media tells the truth or not.)

One Response to State of the Union or Teleprompter Twist?

The State of the Union address is a constitutional mandate. But now of course it is a political platform as well. Too bad.

If Newt was provided equal time and TV coverage, he could give one that would have the country rolling in the aisles in uproar and applause, is my bet.

The President does have the “bully pulpit”, complete with teleprompter. I would much prefer the time and coverage be spent one on one with the most articulate challenger to the “throne”. But I suppose we must be patient. That time will be upon us soon enough.
