Obama retained, America crosses her Rubicon

America crossed her Rubicon last night as she followed her incumbent President into the arms of European styled government and expanded entitlements.

As Caesar so prophetically stated over two thousand years ago: “alea iacta est” – the die is cast.

Marching under the flags of “fairness”, “social justice”, “I want mine”, and “you owe me”, Obama’s minions turned their backs on the history they no longer even bother to learn and gave de Tocqueville his due.

The tipping point has occurred.

As of November 7th, 2012, there are now more Americans who wish to demand more from their country than they care to contribute to it.

Obama’s distraction and division successfully united one hyphenated voting bloc after another into a coalition of takers that ultimately proved unstoppable.  Whittled away, piece, by regulatory piece, tax after confiscatory tax, the producers at last succumbed to the inevitable.

Be it warning the blacks that the Republicans would put them back in their chains, that grandma would be kicked out of her hospital bed, that Hispanic families would be rounded up at ice-ream parlors, that Catholics were evil incarnate for not willingly wanting to provide free contraception on demand, or that all those “rich” people really did “owe” their wealth to the masses, there was not a class left un-messaged by the Obama campaign in its war on American founding principles.

As little as just ten years ago, such a campaign of envy, hate and selfishness would have been soundly trounced.

But in this perfect storm of a sagging economy, high unemployment, an education system that no longer educates, and a liberalized, dumbed down society that demands instant gratification for “me, me, me” every second of every day, sanity and reason didn’t stand a chance.

Age old American virtues of individual responsibility, entrepreneurial self-sufficiency, economic freedom and individual and religious liberty were all demonized as just that: OLD and backwards, no longer needed traits.

The rugged American individualism of the past was just that the PAST. No longer to be aspired to, no longer to be respected. Instead such behavior is now to be demonized as but greed unbridled, unearned wealth stolen from the plates of the masses.

The Constitution no longer that great document that for over two centuries that had restrained government and protected against the abuses of power, but rather a “living” document to be whipped about by the political winds of the day.

But perhaps the best synopsis of what we’ve just witnessed comes not from a snarky Jon Stewart type of today, but from the wisdom of one Benjamin Franklin of so many yesterday’s passed:

“A nation of well informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the region of ignorance that tyranny begins.”

America as founded exists no more.

For with the re-election of one Barack Hussein Obama and all that that re-election entails, she is now officially a nation of ignorants.

God help the fools who so blindly followed and God speed the patriots who now “mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”

Publisher’s Note:  This column first appeared on Monday, November 5th, 2012 as one possible “choice” for America.  As we now all know, just enough made that choice and one way or the other, the rest of us now have to figure out how to pay for it.

Ah a DwainBwain visits. Yet with 16 trillion in debt, 4 dead in Benghazi and an economy in turmoil the last laugh shall not be this post. But unlike “over there” no one is “banned” from commenting here.

Hah! Go easy on it. After years of NEA-led government schooling, that may be the only word it can spell!

So we ended up with four more years of socialism. Now we work as we have for the last four, from the inside. We do what we can to prevent the worst policies from being enacted, and prepare for the next one. All we can do is hope that four years isn’t long enough for Me First and the Gimme Gimmies (real band, by the way) to completely destroy us. Lord knows they’ll do their best to try.

Terrible election result for anyone who doesn’t feel they have a right to the paycheck of others. Are we doomed? Probably. Great nations average just a few hundred years, and democracies fall from greatness from the inside, as people vote themselves into the treasury. We can try to hold it off, but I think this election signals the beginning of the slow decent. People like Ha Ha Boy are laughing while they put the gun to their own head. All I can do is give ’em a wry smile, shake my head, and hope I don’t get anything on me, or get hit by a stray bullet.

          True, so terribly, sadly true.
If it wasn’t for the fact that their ignorant greed and selfishness will bring everyone down I’d be quite happy to just smile away as the triggers get pulled and they realize it is they themselves they’ve just shot in the head.

    Geoff and Nonny,
For sure we are now in the political minority in America. So be it. But simply because it is still an America with intact Bill of Rights we are not powerless. The debate over ideas will continue.
Debating with the idiot is useless however. Whoever that anonymous posted might be, the only response is one four letter word followed by a three letter pronoun. Now that for sure will confuse him or her!!! “It” won’t know what I am talking about.
As I posted “over there” yesterday, “You got it. Now all you have to do is pay for it”!!
Have a great trip and worry not, at least too much.
    Anson
