Of fiscal cliffs, welfare troughs, and Obama’s perpetual campaigning

November 6th 2012 solidified one, indisputable fact:  Barack Hussein Obama is on consummate campaigner.

November 30, 2012 solidifies another: that’s ALL he is.

Apparently just unable to grasp the concepts of Presidential leadership and adult behavior, Dear Leader is back on the campaign trail again today.

The federal government may be borrowing $3 billion a day to finance its massive deficit but that hasn’t deterred the leader of that government from spending even more to hop Air Force One up to Pennsylvania and plop himself in front of yet another adoring crowd.

The “official” reason for the trip to the K’NEX factory in Hatfield, PA today is to take his plan to raise taxes on every American making over $250k a year directly to the people.

The Corner submits the “real” reason is that this guy’s ego has gotten so out of control the only way to satisfy it is to continue campaigning ad infinitum. (And yes, I’m grinning ear to ear with the irony that this child behaving President is giving his little speech from a factory floor that makes Tinker Toys.)

The trip comes a day after the President sent Tiny Tim Geithner up to the hill with his “cliff aversion” proposal for the GOP:

$1.6 trillion in tax increases over the next decade

$50 billion in additional immediate “stimulus” spending

“Planned” $400 billion spending “savings” over the same ten years

Grant the President the ability to raise the debt ceiling sans Congress.

Reports are that Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell literally laughed out loud when presented with the farce.  And it would be laughable if it wasn’t so sad.  (When even the Washington Post ,the New York Times and others are pointing out Obama’s  flaws you know there’s trouble brewing.)

This is no longer an issue of whether to raise taxes on those “millionaires and billionaires” making $250k a year (democrat math?).

This is an all out battle for the very survival of the Republic as founded and who so many have paid the ultimate price to protect.

Obama has already grown the federal government to a size unforeseen.  He has added 6 trillion more in debt with nothing to show for it.  And he is now engaged in the final push to send America over the “welfare cliff” for the sake of faux “fairness”.

The chart above is from a presentation authored by Gary D. Alexander, Secretary of Public Welfare for the state of Pennsylvania and shows in graphic detail just how far passed de Tocqueville’s tipping point we have tipped.

While Alexander illustrates that:

“the single mom is better off earnings gross income of $29,000 with $57,327 in net income & benefits than to earn gross income of $69,000 with net income and benefits of $57,045.”

The website zerohedge.com points out two more ominous facts:

For every 1.65 employed persons in the private sector, 1 person receives welfare assistance

For every 1.25 employed persons in the private sector, 1 person receives welfare assistance or works for the government.

Mitt Romney was lambasted for his 47% talk and the “makers and takers” narrative, yet the truth is, he was far more correct than the media and Obama have ever been.

Social Security is going broke because the ratio of worker to retiree has gone from 159 to 1 in 1940 to 2.9 to 1 in 2010 .

Yet Obama, Reid, Pelosi and their minion media expect us to swallow that a ratio of 1.25 private sector paying for 1 welfare/government recipient is a legitimate philosophy upon which to base American society?

I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that when more private sector workers realize that all their hard work and effort is going to directly support on a basically a one to one basis, someone else in the welfare/government sector, the phrase “Going Galt” is going to become the internets hottest trending topic of all time.

The full report, “Welfare’s Failure and the Solution” is 28 slides of “must read” for ANY American who has even a minute desire to leave anything more than debt and despair to future generations.

Too bad all those little urchins under 30 that gave Obama his re-election didn’t read Alexander’s report BEFORE they bothered to cast their vote.

Perhaps maybe, just maybe, enough would have realized that the only way to achieve true “fairness” in America is to look to her founding, not to her government.
