A long time ago, in a political galaxy far, far away, Mr. William Safire penned an essay for the New York Times opinion page entitled: “Blizzard of Lies”. The subject of his ire was none other than the First Lady of the United States at the time, one Hillary Rodham Clinton and he opened with:
Americans of all political persuasions are coming to the sad realization that our First Lady — a woman of undoubted talents who was a role model for many in her generation — is a congenital liar.
That one line alone was enough to put Mr. Safire on the hit list of every defender of the lefty universe at the time, but back then, the force of truth was still a potent and effective defense. (The media made Death Star of propaganda and misinformation would not become fully operational until the Obama Presidential campaign arrived in 2008 bringing the Clinton invented “politics of personal destruction” to fully weaponized status.)
I had long ago forgotten about Mr. Safire’s blasphemy against the goddess of feminism and his insights would have stayed long forgotten if not for the return of Ms.Vader-Clinton at yesterday’s Congressional hearings regarding her role in the 9/11/12 Benghazi terrorist attack that cost Ambassador Chris Stevens, Tyrone Woods, Sean Smith and Glen Doherty their lives.
From the moment I saw her summon the “I cared”, cracked voice and almost to tears inner-self I knew this was going to be one of Ms. Vader-Clinton’s best performances.
All those months of delaying testimony to allow time for proper prepping was now going to pay off; for the next few hours the Congressional record was treated to one of the best performances by a political hack in a “leading from behind” role in the history of American political theatre.
And oh what wonderful theatre it was. Surpassing all her past performances in “Bimbo Eruptions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7”, “Cattle Futures Unfortunate”, “Rose Law Firm: Petals among the pricks”, “Piggy goes to the bank: Madison Savings and Loan”, “The End of a Threat: Vince Foster’s Convenient Death”, “A Tear for the ages: Crying in New Hampshire”, and other lesser known fare, she proved once again that with the possible exception of one Barack Hussein Obama there is no one better in the art of Alinsky than one Hillary Rodham Clinton.
From her absolute flawless implementation of “pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it”, to her uncanny ability to “keep the pressure on, never let up” to her absolutely masterful deployment of “ridicule is man’s most potent weapon”, she made her master quite proud yesterday.
If you have no respect for the dead, no desire for the truth, no interest in whether the American people were deceived for political purposes, then Hillary the Heroine is who you saw yesterday.
If however you find anyone who could utter such a callous and dismissive statement as: “What difference at this point does it make” as to the who, what and why of the deaths of those four Americans, you saw the true Hillary that Safire exposed those many years ago.
Until yesterday, time and an adoring media had successfully suppressed Ms. Vader-Clinton’s troubled past. But by her own actions she showed once again, that the traits that earned her Safire’s “congenital liar” moniker are as active today as they were those long years ago.
Mr. Safire is not the only one to expose the truths behind the lies of Hillary but he did provide one of the best insights into the why:
“…….Therefore, ask not “Why didn’t she just come clean at the beginning?” She had good reasons to lie; she is in the longtime habit of lying; and she has never been called to account for lying herself or in suborning lying in her aides and friends……..”
Safire’s words were published January 8, 1996, and as of the end of testimony January 23, 2013 one Hillary Rodham Clinton has still “never been called to account”.
Rest in peace “Benghazi Four” and may one day, someone, somewhere, finally bring accountability to the one responsible for your deaths.
