Obama, Chicken Little team up for “Sequester II: Beyond Reality”

February 23, 2013

Fantasyland, US (Cartoon Press) – The list of celebrity fawners on the White House visitor logs is longer than Obama’s nose in Pinocchio mode, so the emergence of B list children’s morality character Chicken Little rising to the top of the President’s list of “go to” celebrities is turning some heads in Fantasyland.

But Oval Office insiders tell the Corner that the choice of Chicken Little and the President’s willingness to give equal billing should come as no surprise to anyone who knows their demagoguery.

Faced with Obama’s performance in the original “Sequester” released in 2011 making a comeback, and with it the painful facts and truths of the entire mess, the White House had no choice but to release “Sequester II: Beyond Reality” ahead of schedule.

In Tuesday’s release announcement and with a bevy of crisply pressed “emergency responders” perfectly staged behind him the President went for Oscar gold:

“Their ability to help communities respond to and recover from disasters will be degraded…..FBI agents will be furloughed, federal prosecutors will have to close cases and let criminals go…..Air traffic controllers and airport security will see cutbacks………Thousands of teachers and educators will be laid off, tens of thousands of parents will have to scramble to find childcare for their kids……..Hundreds of thousands of Americans will lose access to primary care and preventive care…

Changes, like this, not well thought through, not phased in properly………These cuts are not smart, they are not fair, they will hurt our economy, they will ad hundreds of thousands of Americans to the unemployment rolls, this is not an abstraction, people will lose their jobs.

While we’ve had an “actor” President in the past, Obama set himself apart Tuesday as an act unto himself. No one, not even Nixon or Johnson, could have pulled off as many lies and perfectly placed predictions of Armageddon as Barrack Hussein Obama did in what will surely go down in history as if not one of his best, at least his most telling.

Telling as to just how low and how completely disgusting a politician can go when his only goal is his own agenda.

I don’t care how far left of the political center you sit, if you can watch a President of the United States behave in the manner that Barack Obama is behaving on the upcoming “sequester” and still support him, you are not, in any way, any shape, any form, an American.

A denier of facts, a minion for the cause, a “free stuff” parasite, a “hate the rich” ideologue, a “government is god” zealot, one or all you may be, but you are most certainly not an “American” by any definition true to her founding or her principles.

Harsh words, yes. And I mean every damn one of em.

And I mean them for one very simple reason: If you are a supporter of such behavior you are more dangerous to this nation and the freedoms of future generations than any foreign invader. What Al Qaeda can never topple from the outside, you are rotting out from the inside.

The historical record is indisputable. When a nation crosses the tipping point whereby it’s citizens demand more from others than they are willing to do for themselves, the result in inevitable: bankrupting of the national treasury, and nothing but pain and misery for the masses.

While you wrap yourselves in the mantra of “America is the richest nation on earth, that can never happen to us”, the economic realities you deny are fast approaching.

Yes, I’m angry. Howard Beale angry. And that anger is fed by one thing: The knowledge of knowing that we need not be the architects of our own destruction, that with just a reasonable amount of real “shared sacrifice” by all the economic calamity that will make the Great Depression look like the roaring 20’s could be stopped dead in its tracks.

Yet all that comes out of the Oval Office is fear, blame and outright lies. All happily propagated across the land by a minion media more worried about “access” than America herself.

If you don’t bother to take the time to look beyond the staged story (and November 6th shows that far too may don’t) there is a better than average chance that not only do you believe President Chicken Little, you don’t even know that this whole mess was of his making in the first place.

Yes, yes, I already know the chorus from the left: “Caldwell, you’re just letting your racism, hate and anger against Obama cloud your judgment”.

Well then, how about Bob Woodward of Watergate fame? Would you believe him?

In a column published in the Washington Post just yesterday Woodward relays:

….My extensive reporting for my book “The Price of Politics” shows that the automatic spending cuts were initiated by the White House and were the brainchild of Lew and White House congressional relations chief Rob Nabors ………Obama personally approved of the plan for Lew and Nabors to propose the sequester to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.). They did so at 2:30 p.m. July 27, 2011, according to interviews with two senior White House aides who were directly involved.

Woodward lays out in his column not just the time-line of the White House’s “evolving” on accepting truth on the sequester but also exposes another Obama falsehood:

In fact, the final deal reached between Vice President Biden and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in 2011 included an agreement that there would be no tax increases in the sequester in exchange for what the president was insisting on: an agreement that the nation’s debt ceiling would be increased for 18 months, so Obama would not have to go through another such negotiation in 2012, when he was running for reelection.

So when the president asks that a substitute for the sequester include not just spending cuts but also new revenue, he is moving the goal posts……..

What? Obama move the goal posts? Dear Leader not being truthful with the American people?

Blasphemy you say!

Blasphemy yes, but only in the church of Obama. A such a large and powerful church it is.

But the danger for the country though is not the demagogue in the White House, it is not that his congregation is large, it is not even that their cups runneth over with their Kool Aid, it is that a complicit and irresponsible press is going along with it.

For once a citizenry allows apathy and ignorance to replace truth and principle, leading them to slaughter is easy.

How easy?

As easy and standing in front of some crisp blue suits and proclaiming that a “cut” of $85 billion out of a budget of over $3 trillion will cause pestilence and death of biblical proportions.

I’d close with “God help us” but I imagine even he’s about had his fill watching so many fall for so much.

But then again, he might just decide to watch the reality version instead:

    Geoff,

You might want to dig a little deeper into the Woodward quote:

Already did when I read the whole column. And if you notice I even link to it in the article.
While the entire column mentions Republicans as well, the overriding point in it is that:
      1. The sequester was the White House’s idea
      2. Obama personally approved it
      3. Obama is now saying things that were not part of the original deal and acting like it was. In Woodward’s “kind” words: “moving the goal posts”. In any other reality: lying.
      But thanks for dropping by.

    Geoff,

In another forum, one filled with former military personnel and thus normally conservative, one individual admitted one thing and then suggested a “fix”. Essentially, he agreed that “both sides” cause sequestration. He then said, outright, it was the GOPs job to fix it, the mess created by sequestration.

Of course he is a liberal Democrat as well.

Woodward inserted himself in the current fight as to “who caused sequestration”. Said another away, as the fight continues, each side is claiming now, “He hit me, first”. Woodward put on his stripped suit as a referee and said, “You did”. But he did not break up the fight or suggest a way to do so, either.

Sequestration, created in the summer of 2011 was just another case of kicking the an down the road and both sides agreed to do so. Then the super committee failed to work. Then the “fiscal cliff” failed to prevent sequestration. And now the can sides dead in the water and right before our eyes and no one has figured out a way to eliminate the can OR , now, to kick it further down the road.

Clearly now, if you believe Woodward, the administration threw the first punch in 2011. Now both benches have been cleared and both teams are trading blows.

So who will now get the 15 yard penalty? Referees are still consulting and the fans are going nuts. In fact no one has yet to even break up the ongoing fight on the field of politics, either. As well any third party instant replay of the whole fight, starting with the first punch almost two years ago will be so long and convoluted, well no one will watch it!

It frustrates me to the point that I also recommend that security guards should be called onto the field, break up the fight and throw both teams in jail for assualt with a deadly weapon, political mouths.

I am currently watching Tom Coburn and Claire McCaskill “discuss” the sequester.

All McCaskill can do is spout the DNC talking points on “fair” and “balanced approach” and the Republicans must “compromise”. (Yes, I agree, Akin was a jackass, but damn to have to listen to her just keep parroting Obama as she did the past four years is cruel and unusual punishment for sure.)She so far has not mentioned ONCE the over $600 billion in new tax revenue the Republicans gave Obama just a month ago. Her hypocrisy knows no bounds.

BUT, for Claire’s sake, McKnight’s sake and all there rest of the dwainbwains who believe Obama’s Chicken Little fairy tale I just posted a column showing where without one dime being cut out of the defense budget the entire $85 billion for this year can be found. (I even found an extra $33 billion in cuts to put against next year)

Nixon and Johnson were two of the most corrupt President’s this nation has ever known. Who knew in our lifetime we would ever see one who could make those two look like saints?

  3. […] “colleague” at the Post, Obama fan club chairman Ezra Klein disputes that Obama is now “moving the goal posts”, no sane or rational person can dispute that the actions of the President of the United States over […]

It is interesting to see a liberal, below, John McKnight, try to defend Obama with more links. OMG, again.
The full story is rather simple. Obama went to the edge to get tax increases in 2011 but failed. His staff then came up with the idea of sequestration and Obama said go for it. They did and the GOP agreed to do so.
And here we are today, but actually so what over who had the first idea to propose sequestration. Both sides ultimately agreed to it and again, here we are today.
The issue of sequestration, using a meat cleaver to “govern” is lousy governing, period and again BOTH side decided to give it a shot. Who cares today who initially suggested it.
The real failure related to sequestration is where we are today, still unable to decided to both tax more and spend more, at the same time and in an understandable manner, to govern America. THAT ulitmately is a failure of political leadership.
Now who should get the ulitmate blame when the politics of DC prevent effective governing? EVERY President that allowed such to happen, anytime in history, ulitimate carries the blame of such failure, whether it is real or imagined, at the time of failure.

It’s terrible. Horrible. Unimaginable. I tried to drive to work today, but the majority of roads had crumbled to dust. Those few that still resembled passable roads were clogged with government workers digging through dumpsters for a few scraps to eat. I saw neighbors fighting over road kill. This is what sequestration has wrought. Oh, the humanity!

Point is, after receiving the tax increases of roughly $150 billion, this freaking out over $85 billion (much of which won’t even kick in this year) is silly. While the cuts aren’t optimally distributed, this tiny little cut is what we should call “a start”. Maybe when people realize that the world didn’t end the second the budget was cut, they actually stop responding to the Democrat scare tactics (1700000000000 jobs will be lost! A gazillionpeople will die! The dead will come back to life just so they can die again!) and understand cuts are necessary and can be accomplished without the politically motivated predicted dire consequences.

So is this ideal? No. But it is rather humorous to finally, FINALLY see the Democrat bluff called. Of course, as soon as I hit send on this, the noodle-spined Republicans will probably cave and agree to a 3000% tax increase on only those making more than $8 a year.

      • Geoff Caldwell on March 1, 2013 at 10:55 am

        1. So far no cave so good thing there.
        2. I can’t believe you are so misinformed on the dead coming back to life. With all the wisdom you have imparted upon this and Anson’s blog over the years, I find it unfathomable that you don’t know the dead only come back every two years for congressional and presidential elections. The largest outbreaks being in Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia and the states of Ohio and Florida.

That said, I’m leaving early today to go drain my bank account, stock up on a years worth of food, and buy enough lumber for barricades. Once those federal workers realize they’re going to have to get by like the rest of us, there’s going to be one helluva lot of pissed off zombies roaming around.

        • A Nonny Moose on March 1, 2013 at 6:20 pm

Now, now. .. let’s not disparage the lovely ruins formerly known as Detroit. They don’t need the dead to vote there. Not when poll workers vote six times and brag about it. (But… but… THERE IS NO VOTER FRAUD!).

It’s two percent (2% for those who don’t read big words). All but the poorest of the poor living way beyond their means can afford to cut two percent. Oh sh*t, did I say living way beyond their means? Maybe that rules out the Feds. Then again, if this teo percent covers all the basic essential beeds, maybe we should cut the other 98%? But hey, no problem anyway! According to Nanny Bloomberg, we have infinite money anyway, so no problem. So long as other countries keep loaning us money, we don’t have to worry about paying our bills! No word on why, if that’s true, there is any need for any taxation, since we could just borrow everything we need.

I’m pissing myself off, when I should be enjoying my beer here at Blackthorn.
