The Gitmo Gamble

January 14, 2009

Economic meltdown aside, the biggest gamble facing President Obama on January 21st will be what to do with Gitmo. Does he cave to the left wing fringe or does he listen to the boots on the ground that have been fighting this war for the past 7 years?

The Associate Press is reporting he’s ready to close the facility within his first week:

Gitmo Gone?

But as soon as the above was leaked, the Miami Herald reported that an order to close was only the beginning of the process and the actual closing could take months. Needless to say the, “if we’d only play nice with them they’d leave us alone” crowd went nuts. (I know, bad choice of words as they already ARE nuts.)

Hell NO, Let Them Go

BUT, let us all hope that after all is said and done, President Obama is more prudent than candidate Obama. That he truly is a President of the country and not just the fringe. That he will not just blow off the latest report from Reuters that the Pentagon is showing that 61 of our former “guests” have returned to their cozy caves and resumed terrorist activity.

Hey Ahmad, look who’s home!

George Soros and his minions got Obama elected on the mantra of “change” and “hope”. Now that the Obama Presidency is actually drawing nigh, this is one American that is hoping with all hope that when it comes to national security, change will be slow coming, if it comes at all.
