Obama at National Defense University tells terrorists: War’s over, you win, we quit

President Obama has put terrorists around the world on notice. The “war” on terror is over and they’ve won. Because America, at least under Obama, just doesn’t see you as a threat worth fighting any more.

His own record shows that Obama has never been a strong Commander in Chief.

From his month’s long dithering that handed the Taliban a Happy Thanksgiving in 2009 (and got how many additional U.S. troops killed in the process) to his AWOL status while 4 Americans were dying in Benghazi, the former community organizer has shown the country and generations now and forever forward, putting a community organizer in a position that requires courage, leadership and fortitude is not a good idea.

The hubris of Obama would be forgivable were it not so blatantly offensive.

First he claims he “ended” the war in Iraq by following through on the groundwork already laid out by the Bush administration. (That’s ONE thing Obama was absolutely sure he would not “blame on Bush”)

Second he botches that “end” by failing to negotiate an appropriate status of forces agreement that would have protected our interests and not just shoved aside the sacrifice made by so many for so long.

Third he loses an entire fighting season in Afghanistan by putting politics above the soldiers. And then, even when he does finally make a troop decision, he signs their death warrants by announcing a pre-determined date of withdrawal!

Fourth, the complete lack of leadership during Iran’s “green revolution” that could have changed the Middle East forever yet instead sees it more volatile then ever.

Fifth he and his administration not only shamelessly take credit for the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden, they leak sensitive details that put real heroes lives in danger. (And it is important to remember that the raid was successfully nixed more than once by Obama’s Manchurian Candidate puppet master, Valerie Jarrett.)

Sixth, the absolute embarrassment of his Libyan “leading from behind” strategy. Can you imagine George Patton, Norman Schwarzkopf, John Pershing, Ulysses Grant or George Washington ever “leading from behind”?

Seventh, the pain and anguish he continues to perpetrate on the families and survivors of the Fort Hood massacre by demanding that it remain designated by the politically correct term “workplace violence” rather than the truthful and accurate act of terrorism that it was.

Eighth, he lays down a “red line” on Syria that has already turned a fickle pink while flowing through an ever growing mountain of bodies.

Ninth, as a “symbol” of his ……..(insert word of your own, I can’t come up with one right now as I’m just too disgusted after documenting one through eight) he doubles down on his very first failure as President and demands again that Gitmo be closed but once again fails to present any coherent plan on how to do it and still protect national security.

Tenth, in a desperate ploy to distract the public from the abuse of power scandals swamping his administration, he trots off to the National Defense University to give another “declaration” that’s supposed to fix everything because, well, Obama said so.

And let’s not forget the colossal failure of Napolitano’s Homeland Security to connect the dots before the Boston bombings, and the “only by the grace of their incompetence” underwear and Times Square bombers.

Need I go on?

Obama didn’t need to give a diversionary speech at the National Defense University to tell the world that America under his leadership has no intention of “fighting” anything, let alone terrorism. His record already states it clearly and plainly.

Oh yes, a drone here, a drone there but no real commitment to actually going after the enemy and going after him hard.

The almost hour long drone of words (couldn’t help it) was just a rehash of old ideas, hastily repackaged to get something out into the media-sphere other than the Benghazi, IRS, AP and Rosen debacles.

So adamant has Obama been about refusing to acknowledge a “global war on terror” he twists our future fights into:

“………Beyond Afghanistan, we must define our effort not as a boundless global war on terror but rather as a series of persistent, targeted efforts to dismantle specific networks of violent extremists that threaten America.”

If there is but ONE adult in this administration would said adult please explain to Obama and crew that “persistent target efforts” around the globe is in the real world pretty much the same as “global war on terror”.

Or this gem:

“………To put it another way, our operation in Pakistan against Osama bin Laden cannot be the norm.”

Wink, wink, we got lucky once but I’m not going out on THAT limb ever, ever again. If I can’t drone you I won’t bother you.

“…………And now we need a strategy and a politics that reflects this resilient spirit. Our victory against terrorism won’t be measured in a surrender ceremony at a battleship or a statue being pulled to the ground.”

We have over four years of Obama’s action and inaction as to his “strategy” and the record so far is summed up in one, simple word: F A I L U R E.

Whether it’s because he truly does have secret feelings for the Islamists and their “fight for freedom” or he’s just a self-absorbed, lazy, narcissist…….”What difference at this point does it make?”

Obama is what he is, and as we know by now, that ain’t much. If it doesn’t involve a tee time, a hoop, private concerts or hopping Air Force One to another fund raiser, the guy just is not interested.

Ironically though the Obama speech did present one moment of truth. You had to wait till the end but he finally looked into his mirror and repeated:

“And long after the current messengers of hate have faded from the world’s memory, alongside the brutal despots and deranged madmen and ruthless demagogues who litter history, the flag of the United States will still wave from small-town cemeteries, to national monuments, to distant outposts abroad. And that flag will still stand for freedom.”

Obama must be so used to just reading the teleprompter by now he didn’t even notice that his reference to “messengers of hate” and “ruthless demagogues” was just as much a description of his own and that of his administration and campaign’s behavior as any foreign leader.

And someone definitely forgot to tell him that three years is not that long for history to wait to begin cleaning up the “litter” he and his administration is leaving behind.

My broom is waiting, how about yours?

A very good, even great, Marine four star that recently retired once said a war is not over until the enemy agrees to such a proposition. Enemies get to vote on such matters, like it or not. Now go ask the Taliban or Al Qaida or the Muslim Brotherhood, or Iran, or……. how they might vote on the matter, today.

  2. […] What it really was, was a sophomoric attempt to distract the media. […]
