Friday Follies: Obamacare to Brown’s spoiled turds, plenty of stink this week

Brown University spoiled turds

What a week.  Obamacare hearings, to Obama Halloween costumes to Baghdad Jay Carney to Republican hypocrite beggars to Brown University turds…Tis that time once again when we take stock of the inane and foolish put upon us by those forced to navigate life with an amount of gray matter just slightly larger than that found in your average toad

#5 We start this weeks’ Follies with Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and its absolutely absurd order that all 750 employees be forced to take diversity training after some idiot in HR saw a picture of an “offensive” Halloween costume.

Just what pray tell could be so devastatingly “offensive” to trigger an entire medical center being sent to PC hell?

Someone wearing an Obama mask dressed in a straight jacket shouldered on each side by two costumed security guards.

I’m still looking for what was ordered when people were wearing Bush masks and comparing him to Hitler.

But an even greater malpractice of justice than HR’s over-reaction is that the 3 person group only got third place in the costume contest.

Forget originality and creativity, the very fact they had the most truthful representation of Obama yet should have hands down given them first place!

#4 Former Governor of Kansas and current HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius for among other things in her over 3 hours of testimony on the Hill Wednesday actually had the gall to say:

“The website never crashed. It is functional, but at a very slow speed and very low reliability and has continued to function,”

And then there’s this exchange via the Washington Times between Sebelius and North Carolina Rep Renee Ellmers:

Ms. Ellmers: “But men are required to purchase maternity coverage.”

Ms. Sebelius: “Well, an insurance policy has a series of benefits whether you use them or not.”

Ms. Ellmers: “And that is why health care premiums are increasing, because we are forcing them to buy things that they will never need. Thank you.”

Ms. Sebelius: “The individual policies cover families. Men often do need maternity care for their spouses and for their families, yes.”

Ms. Ellmers: “A single male, aged 32, does not need maternity coverage. To be the best of your knowledge, has a man ever delivered a baby?”

#3 Baghdad Jay Carney, treating millions of Americans who are having their individual health care plans cancelled as meaningless peasants who should just shut up and be happy that they now get to pay more for less. After all, they’re just a small fraction of the population.

Q Can you explain in just really clear and plain terms the disconnect between what the President said about if you want to keep your plan you can keep it, and what we see people complaining about, which is being kicked out of their plan or being told they have to buy a more expensive plan, or just general unhappiness in that segment? Can you explain that?

MR. CARNEY: I appreciate the question and I thank you for the opportunity to explain this. And I understand that there’s a lot of attention being focused on it and that it deserves fuller explanation — and I think fuller explanation by us and fuller explanation by everybody reporting on it, so that viewers and readers and listeners are getting the full picture about this issue.

So let’s step back. If you are one of the 80 percent of the American people who receive insurance coverage through your employer or through Medicaid or Medicare or the Veterans Administration, this conversation doesn’t apply to you. These reports do not apply to you. If you’re one of the 15 percent of the American people who are uninsured entirely right now, this conversation does not apply to you. So what we’re talking about here is the 5 percent in the country who currently purchase insurance on the individual market.

Continuing on:

So that’s the universe we’re talking about: 5 percent of the population. And I think it’s important to know that, because in some of the coverage of this issue in the last several days, you would think that you were talking about 75 percent or 80 percent or 60 percent of the American population. So there’s that.

Yep, “so there’s that”.

We had that attitude once before if I recall. Something about slaves being only a “fractional” 3/5 of a person? Irony doesn’t even begin to describe the lunacy of America’s first minority President marginalizing millions of Americans because they’re just a small minority of the general population.

But what is really amazing is where are all the race hustlers? Where’s Al Sharpton, Jesse, LaRaza? Where is the “demand for justice” for all these “fractional” Americans?

#2 Senators Roy Blunt, Rob Portman and the National Republican Senatorial Committee who had the gall to send me several emails this week asking for money. I don’t mind getting solicitations for political contributions, that’s part of the process. But what I DO mind is when hypocrites take me for stupid and want money anyway.

The first plea:

There are just a few days left to send Harry Reid and his friends in the Senate a message that’s loud and clear: We’re tired of their liberal agenda, and it’s going to stop…………. If we want to restore American jobs and values, we’ve got to give our campaigns the resources to win. If you’re sick of a Senate that’s content with playing games and wasting your tax dollars, we’ve got to out raise the Democrats and put them on the defensive for a change

Congress is consumed with partisan gridlock and infighting, and they refuse to seriously address the trillions of dollars in debt we’re passing on to our children and grandchildren.

That’s not leadership. That’s just more dysfunctional politics that sets America back.

You’re absolutely right Mssrs Blunt and Portman, leadership is in very short supply in the Senate these days. And all you have to do is look in the mirror to see why. You two voted WITH the Democrats and did exactly what your email says you want to stop: played games and wasted tax dollars.

And from yesterday:

Tonight at midnight we’ll hit a crucial fundraising deadline. Hitting our goal is so important that I have agreed to match three times your donation.

Your support is absolutely critical to our success. Can I count on you to help us build a Republican majority in the Senate?

I sent an email back with my “two-cents” contribution on why I will do everything in my power to build a CONSERVATIVE majority in the Senate. Unfortunately I’ll never know if Mr. Blunt tripled that to six cents as the email bounced back as “undeliverable”.

#1 And the top toad award this week goes to Brown University and the spoiled, ignorant miscreants who shouted down a lecture by New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly with among others the lovely chant of : “From NYC to PVD, stop police brutality”.

I will never espouse denying anyone in this country the right to protest or speak against those with whom they disagree. But what those idiots at Brown did was neither protest nor speech. It was pure B.S. and anything BUT the practice of American free speech. Shouting down your opponent to avoid having to listen to a differing point of view is as un-American as it gets.

Ray Kelly is a Vietnam combat veteran, has served both Democrat and Republican administrations and though he could have stayed comfortably in the private sector he instead answered the call and returned to public service after the 9/11 attacks. He is the only person in the history of the New York Police Department to have served two non-consecutive terms.

To be so dis-respected by those scum at Brown is about as low as low can get.

And an email I received yesterday made me even angrier at what those little libterds did to Mr. Kelly. It was in response to my Globe Medal of Honor recipient vs Petulant President column and I was honored to receive it:

TU::Geoff for your wonderful article>I am a WW!! vet,15th airforce ,Italy,B_24 tail gunner,,20 missions over Germany.Dying at 621 per day.The only reason I am telling you and and others which I have been doing lately to give them some first hand report as we have a Muslim President who disposes the military veterans of THE GREATEST GENERATION.Sorry to bother you, keep writing great stories as this one..Charles heading to 88,My friend Marvin sent this article to me.

That a World War II veteran took the time to write me personally is a treasure no amount of gold or silver could ever buy.

When “Charles” was the same age of those toad brain turds at Brown he was flying over Germany in the tail of a B-24 never knowing from one morning to the next if he would return to base that evening. They owe their very existence to “Charles” and his “greatest generation” but don’t have a clue to the sacrifice given. And they will never have the humility.

Note the “sorry to bother you” in Charles note. That somehow HE was bothering ME?

Maybe somewhere in our future is another “great” generation of brave and humble. Maybe, somewhere, at some time.

But for now, all we do know for certain, is that they sure as hell won’t be found at Brown University.

So the next time you see a vet don’t forget the extended hand and heartfelt “thank you”. And should you ever run across one of those Brown turds, an extended hand upside the head and a very stern “pull your head out” will do quite nicely.

As always, thanks for reading, have a great weekend and I’ll see ya round the Corner

Now I remember why I never read your crap.

I dunno, Geoff, personally I bet many people like bigdogg here feel better knowing the government is forcing their girlfriends and wives to get coverage for prostate cancer. Don’t you agree?

The Brown thing is just such a perfect example of college radicalism. No one should ever, EVER have to hear anything they disagree with, ever! The Constitution protects us from opposing viewpoints! Well, by “no one” I mean them and them only, obviously. If you’re a conservative and disagree with their views, you need to have it crammed down your throat. But don’t you come around their neck of the woods with your centrist or right wing views! They’ll just shout you down so no one would accidentally be swayed. God forbid any of them ever hear one of their own say “you know, that guy just might have a point…”.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to come to terms with the metaphysical aspect of commenting about having “never read” something one obviously just read…

      Hey there,
Sorry so long getting back in here.

Excellent points on Brown. It’s just such pathetic behavior compared to the generations before that protected the freedoms they now abuse.
As for bigdogg I always find his type the most interesting. They love to sling the insults but you know damn well they read the product. Some people just don’t react to facts and logic the way we constitutional conservatives do.
Gotta run for now but thanks again for still stopping by from time to time. If you get this and have the time would love to have your take on the Virginia governor race piece.
