Friday Follies: The not so wise Latina Sotomayor, Boehner, Hillary, the IRS and Cliven Bundy’s foot

April 25, 2014

Another week, another collection of the lunacy the walks among us.  From Sotomayor, Hillary and the IRS on the left, to Boehner on the ledge to Cliven Bundy out in space, it’s all here.

Yep, “Tis that time once again when we take stock of the inane and foolish put upon us by those forced to navigate life with an amount of gray matter just slightly larger than that found in your average toad.”

#5 U.S. Magistrate Judge Cam Ferenbach – For granting the government’s request to keep the alleged Hillary shoe thrower, Alison Ernst in federal custody because she was a “flight risk and a danger to the community”.

“Danger to the community”? Come on Judge, she threw a friggin shoe at Hillary Clinton, in many communities across this country that’s an act of pure patriotism.

Millions of illegal immigrants are excused their illegal activity because it was just a misdemeanor offense, yet Ernst misdemeanor gets her federal detention. Hello hypocrisy.

#4  Our favorite government agency, that most respected and revered of all agencies, the IRS is again amongst us this week.  This time for yanking the tax exempt status of the Manassas, Va. Based  Patrick Henry Center for Individual Liberty.  And you’re going to love the reason why.  It’s not for political activity in 2012, 2010, 2008 or even 2006.

Nope, the IRS goes all the way back to 2004 and 2005 and cites two columns critical of John Kerry and Hillary Clinton.

But don’t worry, the IRS is absolutely, positively NOT being used to punish democrat’s political opponents.  How do we know this?  Because Lois Lerner says so.  Now move along.

#3  House Speaker John Boehner for his disgusting mocking of those Republicans willing to protect American workers over the interests of big business and illegal immigrant special interests.  Real unemployment is still in the double digits, economic growth is at a standstill, prices for everything American’s actually NEED, energy and food, are at historic highs but all Boehner can do is mock fellow Republicans who don’t want to make the situation even WORSE?

#2  That self-described “wise Latina” otherwise known as the “petulant and not so wise Latina” on the Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor for her less than professional behavior in dealing with being on the 2 side of a 6-2 decision upholding the voters of the state of Michigan rights to ban its public universities from using race as a criteria for admission.

Unable to separate the Constitution and the law from her liberal activism Sotomayor took the unusual step of forcing all in the court chambers to listen to her read her dissent in person from the bench.  And you thought Barack Obama was arrogant.

I was strongly against this person as a Supreme Court Justice from the very beginning.  Not because she was a woman, not because she was a Latino, but because she was just plain not qualified for the job.  You think putting an inexperienced community activist in the Oval Office was a mistake?  Wait till you see the carnage Sotomayor leaves behind as her legacy.

#1 Cliven Bundy – As much as I support the principle and the back story behind the entire 20 year fiasco that started because environmentalists and the BLM wanted hundreds of thousands of acres basically off limits to humans and restricted to limited cattle grazing, there is absolutely no way in hell I can support Bundy and his own latest words:

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

No Cliven, no one EVER has “less freedom” by being the property of another. NO ONE.

The media had already fallen in line with the misleading “he owes $1 million in back grazing fees”, “he doesn’t pay his taxes” and “Bundy’s just a welfare queen rancher living off the government” without bother to tell the back story. The comments now guarantee those misleads will be all ever told of the situation, the principle behind the last man standing will never be fully told, and Harry and Rory Ried will be free to pursue their next little escapade at will.

While Joe Biden can get a pass on “”I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” when describing Barack Obama, Sheila Jackson-Lee can get a pass on asking if NASA if the Mars rover will get a pic of the flag Armstrong planted in ’69, and Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson can get away with lying, cheating, and outright stealing through shakedown, there will be no forgiveness for Cliven Bundy.

He is of the wrong political party, and he is of the wrong mind. He does not believe in big government therefore he does not “care” about the plight of minorities. The media has long passed the phase where it explained the principle behind a story, today it’s all profit, all agenda, all the time.

I have heard some say that Bundy was only trying to say “what good is freedom when you lose your soul”? I’m not a left wing liberal so I won’t even attempt to read Bundy’s mind or to discern what’s in his heart.

All I do know is, that while the personal observation he had of blacks in North Las Vegas may very well be true, the very idea that blacks would be better off back under slavery is repugnant. No man, no woman, no child should ever be held as property by another. PERIOD

Yes, on paper, the statistics tell a devastating story of the modern black community. Over 70% of births to single mothers, fathers refusing to accept responsibility, rap culture that praises gangs and treating women like property, and a “you owe me” attitude by far too many that will accomplish but only one thing: Nothing.

But I firmly believe that the black culture decline over the past 40 years has far more to do with the Jesse Jackson’s, Al Sharpton’s and Democrat politicians telling blacks how they should feel, how they should behave, than if instead they followed the likes of Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, Thomas Sowell, Bill Cosby, Allen West, Tim Scott, Jason Riley, and thousands upon thousands of other African-American men and women who didn’t buy into the victim charade.

The pockets of the Sharpton’s of the world are lined by distributing hate and division. Their only real accomplishment in life? That of bettering themselves at the expense of others.

Over at the is the full video of Cliven Bundy’s remarks. Also is an extended transcript with the before and after of the shortened quote about better off as slaves. Click over and take a read. What you see is a different man than the one being vilified today.

His words are not of the modern vernacular, his thoughts rambling at times but his point on how government and its out of control bureaucracies are destroying the lives of all in America is as valid today as it was before Media Matters and the New York Times decided enough was enough and it was time to take him down.

I know I’ll never see Media Matters or the NYT write a story on the principles Bundy was attempting to discuss in his speech but I also know that the time is fast approaching that if this 4th branch of government by regulation is not reigned in it won’t matter what your skin color, we’ll all be serfs to our regulatory masters.

As always, thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend and I’ll see ya round the Corner.
