Obama’s ‘transformed’ America, is America no more

On October 30, 20008, Barack Obama boldly declared: “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”  And for the next two years, he, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid sat about doing just that.

Until November 2010 when the American people decided far left, one party rule wasn’t exactly working out as they’d thought and erected a Republican House of Representatives firewall against future, unfettered, “transformation”.

And ever since, the media echo chamber has dutifully blamed conservatives for the rise of partisanship and lack of civil discourse.  The narrative being we now have two America’s, one good, one bad.  That if not for the bad conservative obstructionists the “good” democrats could finally bring utopia to all.

Yet what IS their “transformed” America?

Is America a country that approves of Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid using the floor of the United States Senate to personally attack private American citizens for exercising their Constitutional rights to participate in the political process and then jets off to get his marching orders from an environmental activist willing to give $100 million dollars IF democrats do as he says?

Is America rabid regulators creating a man-made drought and fallowing hundreds of thousands of acres previously growing fresh fruit and vegetables in the San Joaquin Valley by diverting billions of gallons of fresh water into the Pacific Ocean for the sake of a 3 inch fish, or demanding an 8 foot high fence for the New Mexico meadow jumping mouse putting local ranchers out of business?

Is the America that put men on the moon now reduced to a blind follower of as yet to be correct computer models from government funded scientists who from East Anglia to Queensland have shown more emphasis on politics and agenda than actual, provable science?

Is America a place that cheers a President so petulant that rather than working within our Constitutional framework he lets loose the administrative hounds of regulation and uses executive edicts to subvert the rule of law?

Is America a nation that says nothing when House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi flat out lies that the Supreme Court decision in the Hobby Lobby case made certain forms of contraception illegal?

Does America today really think so little of 21st century women that they aren’t even capable of being responsible for their on birth control?

Is America the hypocrite Hollywood liberal Michael Moore that trashes capitalism as evil while owning 9 homes himself?

Is America supposed to just open its borders to all without regard to skill, language, health, ability to contribute, or willingness to assimilate?  Straining local schools, hospitals and welfare centers while driving down wages for all?

Is America but politicians bemoaning children trapped in failing schools while they stand in the doorway denying school choice as unions fill their back pockets?

Is an America that pays for the selfishness of today with trillions of debt for its children tomorrow an America even worthy of the name?

The Founders gave us a constitutional republic for a reason.  That through its checks and balances, its restraint on federal power, and its emphasis on individual freedoms over collective coercion, the United States of America for which they had sacrificed so much would not be easily destroyed.

I’m all for discussing a more “civil” – “bi-partisan” America, but if the aforementioned questions illustrate the America you want, than yes, I proudly admit that I will be as partisan and uncivil as need be to ensure that your America, that “transformed” America, does not become my grandchildren’s living hell.
