Hillary must deny history to make history

July 31, 2016

HillaryLiesIn the past two weeks, the Republic party nominated an outsider that vanquished 16 others with decades of political experience and the Democrats became the first major political party to nominate a woman for the Presidency of the United States.

Both historic moments, but the award for most energetic denial of reality and shoveling of political bovine excrement definitely goes to the Democrats.

The party that plucked out an Illinois State Senator in 2004 and rode his rhetoric to a two term Presidency had decided best way forward was to check off another box by nominate one Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Yet the party of Harry Truman’s “the buck stops here” and John Fitzgerald Kennedy’s “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country” was nowhere to be found last week.

In their place, a political narrative so detached from the facts on the ground that if Earth was being monitored by an advanced alien society they’d plant the “Danger, Logic Deficient Idiots Live Here” sign, engage the warp drive and get the hell as far away as they could as fast as they could.

Hillary’s speech was amazing, the message truly uplifting, and if it had been delivered by someone who had not spent the last 40 years lying her way to that podium, it would have had half a chance of being believed.

By the end of the speech the fact that the worlds’ most dangerous terror threats, ISIS and Iran were barely mentioned all week, or that the DNC didn’t even have a single America flag in the convention hall when it opened, or that not until the last minute and some serious social media shaming were uniformed police officers included, was all forgotten.

In one speech America was now expected to believe that the Obama Presidency never happened.

Because when the cameras click off and the sound bites fall silent, the $20 trillion in debt, terrorism around the world and right here at home, healthcare “reform” that is basically just adding more people to the Medicaid roles, declining median incomes, home ownership at the lowest levels since the mid 1960’s, a labor participation rate not seen since the ‘70’s, and the rest of the “history” that has been made since 2008 is the dirty little secret behind all that soaring rhetoric.

It’s too early to tell exactly what meme Hillary’s fawning media will push, “Hope with Hillary”, “Clinton Cares”, “Together we’re together”, but considering this is the same media that spread the “Hands up, Don’t shoot” lie that is still getting police officers killed, I certainly don’t expect a truthful one.

The words of fantasyland will always be more appealing than the truth of reality.  Yet it is that reality that we must endure.

No, it’s not uplifting, no, it’s not optimistic, no, it doesn’t make for great T.V., but it is the truth.  The truth that is the legacy of today’s Democrat party; happily willing to tell you what you want to hear while hoping you never bother to look at what it’s actually doing.

There is no doubt that many will rush to join Hillary’s “change maker” army.  And with glazed eyes and automated thought they’ll march in lockstep without even a clue that the history they’re making is the very history that will crush their children and grandchildren under a mountain of debt and rights stripping regulations.

Yes, Thursday night was an historic moment in American history.  But making history for history’s sake is a dangerous path.  Don’t believe me?  Just look at the past 8 years.
