Young Omar or Old Biden? I’ll take neither

May 5, 2019

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D MN) and former Vice President Joe Biden represent both the young and the old of today’s Democrat party.  Yet be it present or past, their records show neither seem to have America’s best interests at heart.

Ms. Omar and her family, Somali refugees, were taken in by America in 1992 and she became a naturalized citizen eight years later at the age of 17.  She has bachelor’s degrees in political science and international studies from North Dakota State University, was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2016 she spring boarded to the U.S. House of Representatives two years later.

One could say she’s the epitome of the American Dream.  Yet unlike the immigrants that passed through Ellis Island and spent their lives supporting America Ms. Omar seems determined to do the opposite.

From her anti-Semitic tweets that got Nancy Pelosi and the entire Democrat caucus twisted into a pretzel so as not to call her out personally to asking for leniency for nine Minnesota men convicted of trying to join ISIS to saying that U.S. soldiers killed thousands of Somalis Ilhan Omar does not a patriot portray.

And this week she told Democracy Now! that it’s U.S. bullying, not despot Maduro, destroying the country and that our trying to help bring democracy back to Venezuela “is not in the interest of the United States.”

I personally can’t fathom how someone who was rescued from the hell of Somalia and rises to the title of United States Representative (along with the $174k a year salary) so easily bashes the nation that gave her refuge. But I can look at the current state of our universities and the radical left that has hijacked academia and see a cause and effect here.   No one is born hating America; that must be taught.

Then there’s former Vice President Joe Biden.  Known to some as “Uncle Joe”, “Middle Class Joe” to his political handlers, and “Creepy Joe” to the female secret service agents who had to endure his penchant for swimming in the nude, Mr. Biden is banking his third bid for the Presidency on the predicate that he is the “anti-Trump”.

And for all the talk of restoring civility in our politics, don’t expect Biden to be that messenger.  He launched his campaign claiming that President Trump called neo-Nazis and White Supremacists at Charlottesville North Carolina “fine people”.  The transcript says different, but Biden’s used to playing the race card.

Speaking before a mainly African American group in 2012 he attacked Mitt Romney’s plan to roll back some of the most onerous Dodd/Frank regulations with “(Romney) is going to let the big banks once again write their own rules, unchain Wall Street, He is going to put y’all back in chains.”  (What is it with Democrat politicians feeling the need to change their speech pattern in front of black audiences anyway?  Is the word “pander” not in their dictionary?)

He also told Rev. Al Sharpton that only racist Republicans wanted Voter ID and that “they (republicans) don’t want black folks voting” that “it’s what these guys are all about, man”.  Evidently no one bothered to inform dear Uncle Joe that according to a 2016 Gallup poll those favoring photo ID to vote is 80 percent in favor, 19 against.  That’s a lot of racist Republicans hey Joe?

But the worst of Joe “I’m running for President again” came this past Thursday in Iowa City “China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man,”….” I mean, you know, they’re not bad folks, folks. But guess what, they’re not, they’re not competition for us.”

I guess Joe was sleeping through 2014 and 2015 when Chinese hackers stole millions of records from the Office of Personnel Management computers?  And he must have really been snoring during the Obama years to miss all the military bases China built in international waters in the South China Sea.

Joe can deny it all he wants, but that won’t change the fact that the rest of the world recognizes China for the threat that it is.

And remember that over three quarters of a trillion dollar Obama stimulus package?  You know, the one that bailed out public unions and included great American successes like Solyndra, “shovel ready jobs”, “cash for clunkers”, and a million electric cars.  Good ol Joe was in charge of it.

Yep, Joe is definitely the “anti-Trump” candidate.  Where he and Obama expanded government and burdened the private sector, the job numbers released Friday showed 263,000 jobs created in April and an unemployment rate down to 3.6 percent.  That’s the lowest rate since December, 1969 and those jobs are carrying an average wage of $27.77, 3.2 percent above the past year.

I could go the rest of my life without seeing another Trump tweet.  But if that means Omar and Biden running things?  Tweet away Mr. President.
