Obama image desecrates U.S. flag at Florida Democrat Office

March 15, 2012

An image of President Obama replacing the field of stars on an American flag flying in front of the Lake County, Florida Democrat offices was enough to make local veterans see red.

The call-out below from the wftv.com story says it all:
Korean war veteran Don Van Beck said his blood was boiling.

“I can’t describe how upset was because you just don’t do that to the American flag,” Van Beck said.

Van Beck found it flying outside Lake County Democratic headquarters under the stars and stripes. Marine Corps vet John Masterjohn was seeing red.

“Joseph Stalin, pictures of Mao, pictures of Adolph Hitler. The pomp, the ceremony — the flags like that,” Masterjohn said.

It’s bad enough that Dear Leader himself  is so arrogant and out of touch as to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars taking Air Force One to an NCAA basketball game while gas is at $4 bucks a gallon, real inflation at 8 percent, real unemployment closer to 15 percent, and millions of ordinary Americans scrambling to scrape by, it’s even worse when that arrogance filters down to the minions.

Minions so ignorant that they would desecrate an American flag, paid for with American blood, with the image of someone doing everything within his power to “transform” her as far from her founding principles as possible.

A HuffPo article said the flag had been sold online by Seattle based www.famousflags.com but a quick check on the company’s web site this morning using the search phrase “obama flag” pulls up only four products, none of the Obama desecration style.

Whether it’s still for sale or not, the Corner encourages all readers to inquire to www.famousflags.com as to just why they were selling such a product in the first place.

That’s it for today.

As always:

The clip that I saw on Fox two nights ago indicated the flag was manufactured in China. It did not mention the distribution network in the U.S. I also did not realize it was being flown from a Dem. HG flagpole just outside of that facility.

I wonder what the DNC has to say about such terrible judgment of a lower level rung of the Dem campaign organization?

I believe the DNC response when their own is caught is the same as it’s been the past 50 years: “The Sound of Silence”. 🙁

This story also lists the flag code for the state of Florida, which apparently the local Democrat chair, Nancy Hurlbert, couldn’t be bothered to read. It’s pretty specific that what she did is blatantly against code, which reads (from the article):

Statute 256.05, which covers improper use of state or United States flag, or other symbol of authority, reads: “No person shall, in any manner, for exhibition or display:

“(1) Place or cause to be placed any word, figure, mark, picture, design, drawing or advertisement of any nature upon any flag, standard, color, ensign or shield of the United States or of this state, or authorized by any law of the United States or this state; or

“(2) Expose to public view any such flag, standard, color, ensign or shield upon which shall have been printed, painted or otherwise produced, or to which shall have been attached, appended, affixed or annexed any such word, figure, mark, picture, design, drawing or advertisement.”

Note, by the way, her refusal to state that she would not put the flag back up. Good to see that sort of arrogance isn’t limited to just our local partisans. It’s kind of disturbing, though, how they (the far left and rabid Democrat partisans) can’t just show homage to the flag, and to the country. Not even to the office of the president. They are pledging allegiance to one specific person, the way one would a king or dictator, or even a deity. Does that strike anyone else as more that just a tad wrong? I wonder if she cried and sang that “Mm, mmm, mm, Barack Hussein Obama” song when she took that desecrated flag down?

Yet another example of how they place the chosen one above the law, or just rank and raw stupidity on the part of Mizzzz Hurlbert? Some combination of the two? Who can say? But as Geoff pointed out, the official reaction is “What? You saw nothing. Nothing happened here, and so what if it did. Fall in line, move along, and find something a Republican did to report about like a good little station.”

Hey, here’s an idea! Maybe that other blogger can sob and wail to Senator Levin about how unfair this story is and how WFTV should lose its license. He’s good at that! Given his track record of “success” with those tantrums, one would think WFTV would be calling BEGGING him to speak out against them! 🙂 Nah, instead we’ll see tomorrow’s post over there being a list of photographs of flags with Republicans on them (if he can devote the time to finding them), because “you started it!” is still a valid argument for adults in his world.
