Friday Follies: Obama still loves illegals-hates Keystone, Pelosi still lies, Muslims still demand, and the Press still complicit

November 14, 2014

Muslim demands march on, Obama’s lawlessness on display, Nancy Pelosi lies about Gruber and the complicit press that supports them all.

Yep, it’s Friday and yep that means ”Tis that time once again when we take stock of the inane and foolish put upon us by those forced to navigate life with an amount of gray matter just slightly larger than that found in your average toad.”

#5 & #4  Of course President Obama is on the list again.  It IS the Follies.  It DOES point out the lunacy of the left.  Why wouldn’t he?  And this week it’s a twofer:  Keystone XL pipeline and amnesty for illegal aliens.

The Washington Post puts Obama’s Keystone obstinance this way:

President Obama is fond of telling Congress that it should pass things with the overwhelming support of the American people, including (among other things) comprehensive immigration reform, increasing the minimum wage, and increasing gun background checks.

And yet, Obama could soon be in a position of vetoing something with a similar amount of support: the Keystone XL pipeline.

Looks like Tom Steyer’s $100 million and George Soros’ billions are having a much bigger influence on Americans’ lives than either of those evil Koch Brother’s that Harry Reid trashes.

And showing he plans to spend his last two years channeling King George III over George Washington, ABC news reports on his doubling down of favoring illegals over Americans:

Speaking to reporters alongside famous opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi, President Obama was adamant that, despite mounting GOP objections, he will move forward and take executive action to reform the immigration system by the end of the year because reforms are “way overdue.”

“I gave the House over a year to go ahead and at least give a vote to the Senate bill. They failed to do so and I indicated to Speaker Boehner several months ago that if, in fact, Congress failed to act, I would use all the lawful authority that I possess to try to make the system work better, and that’s going to happen,” he said.

Well how nice of you Mr. President.  “You gave” the House “over a year”.  Makes me wonder just which Constitution it was that you supposedly taught back in Chicago.  Russia’s?  China’s?  Mexico’s?  Venezuala’s?  Cuba’s?

A United States President does not “give” nor “grant” anything to the House of Representatives.  IT, not HIM is the Constitutional repository of the will of the American people via their elected representatives.  And right now the American people choose to populate that House with representatives that represent THEIR views, not the wishes of radical left wing amnesty groups.

It is a testament to the success of the dumbing down of America by the main stream press and pop culture that such a blatantly anti-American act will even be attempted.

While I have no doubt that Obama’s executive amnesty will eventually be ruled as unconstitutional as his recess appointments years ago, the damage will have already been done.  The left will be further emboldened and Republicans and those of us who stand for America first, immigration second will be smeared as racists.

#3  Once again the legacy media is protecting Obama and his signature stab in the back to the American public.  This time it’s the fact that all of us with brains have known for years:  that Obamacare was not what it was promoted and that it would not do what Democrats said it would do.

Thanks to my sacrifice to the technology gods finally being received, video has surfaced of MIT economic professor Jonathan Gruber more than once bragging about the American voter being “stupid” and that Obamacare was obtusely written on purpose to hide what otherwise would have made it impassable in Congress.

But what’s worse than Gruber himself, is the treatment by the broadcast networks of the story.  Or I should say non-treatment.  As Mediaite reports:

CNN media reporter Brian Stelter tackled the Jonathan Gruber story today and acknowledged that, with a few exceptions, the MIT professor’s comments about the “stupidity” of American voters haven’t gotten much play outside conservative media…..

…..Stelter pointed out how none of the nightly newscasts on the three major networks (ABC, NBC, and CBS) have covered Gruber’s remarks, and none of those networks’ morning programs covered it either (with the exception of CBS this morning). But yes, Stelter acknowledged, Gruber’s comments have been “barely heard about” outside of the conservative media.

Jefferson aptly noted: If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.

The main stream media has already made sure millions are ignorant and the result is less freedom today than at any time in our history.  The mid-term results have given us a firewall but it is only temporary.

With the Democrat party turning even further to the left (see Warren, Elizabeth) and the networks in full support of the turn, the 2016 elections will be the most critical since the founding.

#2  And speaking of turning to the left and the lunacy such entails, who better to take the top Follies spot this week than none other than Ms. Botox by the Bay, Nancy Pelosi.

From the Washington Post:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday that, not only did Jonathan Gruber not play a significant role in drafting Obamacare, but that she doesn’t even “know who he is.”

Pelosi on Gruber: “I don’t know who he is. He didn’t help write our bill.”

— Sean Sullivan (@WaPoSean) November 13, 2014

Many have pointed out since then that Pelosi’s office has cited Gruber’s work in the past. That’s notable, but it’s very unlikely Pelosi herself wrote those press releases herself or even participated in their drafting.

But then there’s this: Pelosi herself has also mentioned Gruber and his work — back in November 2009, at the height of the Obamacare debate.

The story continues with a transcript of when Pelosi was asked about a CBO analysis that the Republican plan “would cost significantly less than the Democratic plan and that it would lower premiums.”  In that exchange, she states:

We’re not finished getting all of our reports back from CBO, but we’ll have a side by side to compare. But our bill brings down rates. I don’t know if you have seen Jonathan Gruber of MIT’s analysis of what the comparison is to the status quo versus what will happen in our bill for those who seek insurance within the exchange. And our bill takes down those costs, even some now, and much less preventing the upward spiral.

What’s that old saying?  Something about that the problem with lying is that you have to keep telling more lies to cover up the lies you’ve already told?

Considering how many lies Pelosi has told, it’s no wonder every time she opens her mouth these days she’s a stammering blob of nonsense.  This last whopper even giving PolitiFact no wiggle room and forcing it to rate her latest insult to intelligence fully false.

#1  Topping this week’s Follies is yet another school board capitulation to yet another Muslim group making yet another demand for “equality”.  From the Washington Post:

Christmas and Easter have been stricken from next year’s school calendar in Montgomery County. So have Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah.

Montgomery’s Board of Education voted 7 to 1 Tuesday to eliminate references to all religious holidays on the published calendar for 2015-2016, a decision that followed a request from Muslim community leaders to give equal billing to the Muslim holy day of Eid al-Adha.

The board could have defended American traditions and values, but as we see all too often these days, instead chose to let the perpetual march of political correctness trample all over it.

And what I find particularly sickening about their cowardly act is that they did it on Veterans Day.  Veterans whose ancestors fought Muslim pirates over 200 years ago all the way to the “shores of Tripoli”.

The Muslim religion has always influenced those who would cause harm to America and has been the nemesis of peace across the world since it first took hold of Arab minds almost 1500 years ago.

As the late Christopher Hitchens noted in his “What Jefferson really thought about Islam” piece for Slate, the Islamic idea of superiority over Christians and Jews is not new.  In a report to Secretary of State John Jay and Congress, Thomas Jefferson relayed that when he and John Adams asked Tripoli’s envoy by “what right he extorted money and took slaves” they got this:

The ambassador answered us that [the right] was founded on the Laws of the Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have answered their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.

Sounds pretty much like the same justification ISIS is using today doesn’t’ it?

Yet thanks to 40 plus years of left wing indoctrination and political correctness run amok, millions of Americans are too ignorant of their own history to see what is happening right in front of their very eyes.

To all Muslims in America:  As is enshrined in our Constitution, you are free to practice your religion as you wish.  Same Constitution however does not give you the right to demand that we overturn 200 plus years of Judeo-Christian values to mainstream your views into our public school systems and our government.

If you want Sharia law, the Middle East is full of countries that have it.

If you want schools closed for Muslim holidays, again the Middle East is happy to oblige.

It is one thing to immigrate to America, it is quite another to attempt to infiltrate her and “transform” her into something she never was nor does not wish to be.

And if you truly want peace in America you need to learn the difference between tolerance and acceptance.  While we will peacefully tolerate your rights to practice your religion we are under no obligation to be forced to accept it.  (See ISIS, Syria, Iraq.)

So what did we learn this week?

Yes, there’s the reminder that a sizable majority of the press that the Founders entrusted to inform the public to keep the government honest is not only no longer informing said public of said government’s wrongdoing but actively promoting more wrongdoing by abdicating its responsibility to expose it.

But more importantly is that fact that the left is still on the move and has no intention of honoring the results of the mid-term elections.  The fire-wall we’ve erected is only temporary and will require constant reinforcement against the onslaught we all know is coming.

Where she will be this time in 2016 is up to us.  You, me, our family, our friends, neighbors, co-workers, every person we know eligible to vote.

We have two years to prepare for the battle, let not a second go to waste.
